Class Overview

TAOS’ Trauma-Informed Survivor Advocacy Training is a four session training and skills-building practice for survivors who would like to become policy advocates at the local, state and national level. Participants will learn about general policy landscape and environment, understand the basics of policy development, practice skills for advocacy meetings and strategies, and understand the importance of adding survivor’s voices to policy work.

The entire training is developed to be trauma-informed and supportive for survivors. Facilitators are trauma-informed experts and participation is all geared to including survivor experiences and survivor leadership.

This course features carefully curated educational content, to help you feel confident in your growth. Before each session, you’ll have a chance to review materials and resources to come in informed.

Live Sessions

Our live sessions provide an interactive and facilitated journey into policy advocacy with trauma-informed pacing.

Individualized Support

This course works with the participants to practice and coordinate policy conversations while connecting survivors’ experiences and expertises to advocacy circles.
