Welcome to the Compassionate Coach Course

Compassionate Coach is an educational training course from The Army of Survivors. Together, we work to build up compassionate coaches who are trauma-informed, believe that athletes are more than a medal, and work collaboratively with athletes, parents, coaches, and others to actively encourage the mental and physical well-being of those they coach.

Growth-Focused Content

This course features carefully curated educational content, to help you feel confident in your growth. Before each session, you’ll have a chance to review materials and resources to come in informed.

Live Sessions

Our live sessions provide a safe, guided, facilitated journey into compassionate coaching.

Continued Learning

At the end of each section we’ll share additional resources, articles, podcasts, and videos for continued learning. Remember, compassionate coaching is an ongoing journey.

Course Structure

The Compassionate Coach course is composed of 8 modules, each of which are structured with about 30-60 minutes of pre-meeting preparation, additional supplemental resources, a facilitated live session, a reflection prompt, and a list of additional resources for continued learning.

Strengths-based Approach

One of the goals of Compassionate Coach is to invite participants to reflect critically on their role as a coach in preventing or perpetuating harm against athletes. We recognize this is no light-hearted task. Our strengths-based approach builds from empathy and the idea that every person has inherent strengths and resources that empower them to be an agent of change.
