The Army of Survivors is proud to welcome Dwight Hicks, the newest member to the board. Hicks is a former defensive star with the San Francisco 49ers, winning two Super Bowls (1981, 1984) and being named to four Pro Bowls (1981, 1982, 1983, 1984). Prior to his time in San Francisco, the former safety earned All-Big Ten Conference Honors at the University of Michigan, where he gained national recognition for his performances in the 1976 Orange Bowl and 1977 and 1978 Rose Bowls.
“We are honored and grateful that Dwight has joined our team at The Army of Survivors,” said The Army of Survivors Founder & President Grace French. “His passion for our mission is evident in every conversation, and we know that he will help to drive our organization to create needed positive change in the world of sport.”
Following his football career, Hicks works in the entertainment industry which includes TV appearances and a play called X’s and O’s A Football Love Story. Dwight appears at fundraising events for charitable organizations and participates in celebrity golf tournaments benefitting at risk youth, veterans, and healthcare organizations. He is also sought after as a motivational speaker with positive results for corporations utilizing his talent.
