Project Assistant (Part-Time)

Type: Contract – 36 months
Salary: $12,000 USD per year
Work location: Fully Remote

Description:
The Army of Survivors (TAOS) is looking for a Project Assistant to provide administrative and monitoring, evaluation and learning support for a three-year project in collaboration with the Sport & Rights Alliance (SRA). This role will help ensure smooth day-to-day operations, timely delivery of activities, as well as accurate project implementation reports.

Background:
TAOS is a survivor-founded and led organization whose mission is to bring awareness, accountability, and transparency to sexual violence against all athletes at all levels. Our work is survivor-centered and rooted in the principles of trauma-informed care. It is guided by the experiences of survivors, up-to-date research, and an intersectional, trauma-informed analysis of how systems impact the lives of survivors.

The SRA is a global coalition of leading rights organizations committed to bringing about a world where sport is an authentic force for good. Our mission is to promote the rights and well-being of those most affected by human rights risks associated with the delivery of sport.

This joint TAOS-SRA project supports a global network of athletes, whistleblowers, and allies to address and respond to abuse, trauma, and systemic discrimination in sports. The project provides people impacted by discrimination and abuse access to emergency and continuous support for legal, physical and emotional support, aswell as platforms to drive public awareness and policy change. Coaches undergo training to prevent and respond totrauma and create safe and equitable training environments. The program also works with human rights experts and sport governing bodies to ensure athletes’ voices are centered and change is equitable and sustainable.

Position Overview:
The Project Assistant will provide administrative and monitoring, evaluation and learning support to the project team. This includes assisting with all grant reporting, maintaining and supporting the grant project timeline, and management of deliverables. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and effective communicator with knowledge of grant reporting and project coordinating. Knowledge regarding sexual assault prevention and intervention, sporting structures, and advocacy are a plus.

The Project Assistant will be responsible for coordinating the project team, reporting on deliverables, and ensuring the project stays on track for completion. The project combines prevention and advocacy programming, direct support to athlete survivors, and campaigns for awareness building and would require the Project Assistant to support the team in managing and reporting on deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist preparing project reports including, but not limited to, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual reporting needs.
  • Support the project team of staff and consultants in meeting all agreed goals and deliverables.
  • Support with monitoring, evaluation, assessment, and learning activities by maintaining and tracking data and records associated with the needs for the project.
  • Support the onboarding and needs of the project contractors. 
  • Maintain organized project files and ensure smooth information sharing across the team.

Qualifications:

  • Embrace TAOS’ mission to bring awareness, accountability, and transparency to sexual violence against athletes at all levels.
  • Experience supporting projects or grant-funded programs reporting. 
  • Experience and confidence in coordinating a remote, global team across time zones and cultures. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 
  • 3+ years working in non-profit programming, community outreach and administrative support. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to support multiple projects at a time.
  • Flexible, adaptable and team oriented. 

Preferred Experience:
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience providing administrative and monitoring support to global projects. 
  • Understanding of the sports world and human rights principles. 

This role will last throughout the three-year project.
